Jenn ~ Bacall ~ Tipsy
Since we are members of the Golden
Retriever Club of America, we subscribe to their Breeder
Code of Ethics.
We usually have just 2-3 litters a
year and almost always have a waiting list. Our pups are in
each of the New England states, as well as Ohio, Virginia,
South Carolina, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Each of our breeding dogs have been
examined by a Board Certified Cardiologist, annually by a
Board Certified Ophthalmologist and has either OFA
(Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) or Penn Hip clearance
for their hips & elbows. They are only bred to dogs with the
same clearances.
Our puppies are tested at 7 weeks
for temperament, adaptability, and show potential. Since all
of our dogs live in the house (yes, 7 in the house!), the
puppies are well socialized with both people and dogs before
they leave us at 8 weeks. However, we do strongly advise
they go to a puppy kindergarten class to be followed by
obedience classes.
Puppies are sold with a 26 month
contract on hips/elbow/heart/eye issues. Puppies placed in
pet homes are sold with LIMITED AKC registration. We urge
pet homes to have hip/elbow/eye/heart checks done at the
appropriate age of the puppy and we partially reimburse the
cost of the tests. Puppies sold as show/breeding prospects
come with FULL AKC registration.
A portion from the sale of each puppy
is donated to the Canine Health Foundation and is designated
to programs that provide research funds for the study of
cancer in Golden Retrievers
